The range of programs is designed to proudly protect the lives and properties of the residents in the community.

    The Point Edward Fire & Rescue consists of a full time Fire Chief and Fire Prevention Officer as well as 30 volunteer firefighters. Fire Services have broadened over the years and the firefighters are first responders in a number of areas, including:

    • Fire Suppression;
    • Medical Assist;
    • Auto Extrication;
    • Ice and Water Rescue;
    • Carbon monoxide detection;
    • Emergency Planning and Management

    In addition, the following services are provided as part of the Fire Prevention Programs:
    • Inspection programs for businesses;
    • Planned activities during Fire Prevention Week in October of each year including:
      • Working with the children at Bridgeview Public School for the entire week;
      • 'Plan for Escape' - Sirens will be heard as the firefighters travel through the Village to meet with families to check their fire escape routes from their homes;
