Kevin Conroy hopes to one day play professional lacrosse but first the 13 year old from Point Edward will focus on winning a gold medal with Team Ontario at the 2008 Canadian Lacrosse Championship in Whitby.
Kevin Conroy, a grade 8 stufdent at Bridgeview Public School is one of 18 players recently named to Team Ontario from out of the more than 100 players that attended a series of selection camps in Whitby.
The 12 team championship tournament will be held August 3 to 9 at Whitby's Iroquois Park.

Point Edward bantams struck GOLD at a minor hockey tournament at Niagara On The Lake. They played five games, winning four with one tie. They defeated Thornton in overtime in the championship game. Jennifer Mara hams it up with Earl Helps, who is willing to have his head shaved Saturday to raise money for Mara, who has breast cancer.
A fundraiser is being held for Jennifer Mara, Saturday, February 9th, 2008 at the Balmoral Tavern in Point Edward. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the Balmoral or when the doors open at 4:00pm Saturday.
